Here's an interesting article on the impact of overfishing on cod stocks in the North Sea. The same could be applied to Irish Sea stocks and waters off the South coast.

We all know what the problem is, and we all know what the cure is. It's just that for governments, fishermen and anyone with a vested interest the medicine is just too unpalatible.
