Arrived down to the beach in Killiney, planned on fishing straight out from the car park but there was two many swimming.Moved up the beach and set up between the car park and the tea rooms.Got two rods in the water, one with a flapper in close and the other with a pulley at distance. The lines were only in the water a few mins before they started getting weighed down with weed

Considered packing up and moving but wasn't in the mood for travelling.Managed to pull a few fish out along with the weed with rockling a wrasse showing first.Just before the light started to fade a noticed a good rattle on the mack baited pulley, lifted into it and felt like what weighed a tone at the other end.Thought at first it was a big doggy and a tone of weed but this thing was pulling back the whole way in.Didn't know what I was looking at when this monster came thrashing into the shore, ended up a nice huss weighing in @ 10.6lbs

That fish was by far the most aggro fish I've ever handled!Got the pulley back out where I had it but just got plauged with dogs after dark.Managed one more flounder on the flapper and decieded to move on to Dun Laoghaire.
Dun Laoghaire: Headed down the west pier to chance my arm after conger. Not much to report apart from the amount of gear I lost

Lost five wire traces with 8/0 meat hooks in five casts.
