Ballylumford - awesome!!

#1 Post by dickyfish »

People: Lanky lig Nige, Nev the beast and me

Duration: 3hrs

Tide: yes

Weather: dry

Bait: mack, squid and blackhead worms (yes really)

Rigs: floats and ledger

Results: Anything you want!!

Report:

Headed off to a local spot Ballylumford with not many expectations but we were soon into fish of all shapes and sizes. nev the beast was, as usual, outcasting us all and was soon into LSDs soon followed by me who concentrated mainly on mini species and congers. Lanky lig Nige wasnt doin great but then he hooked into something fairly big which got off on him close to the pier, it was getting dark but it was silvery so I was thinking sea trout cos we saw some jumping.
I got some nice minis including rockling and pollock and a what I think is called a dragon fish?? Lanky Nige got a decent conger which scared him so much he cut the line the big fruit so no pic!
It ended up with Nev the beast winning the mini comp so he got his chips bought for him on the way home by us two losers :(

Will be heading back soon, great nights craic :D

Good fishing lads. Never heard of a dragon fish but have caught plenty of scorpion fish off Ballylumford, have you no pictures?
