People: myself and jhcabs

Duration: 4 hours

Tide: ? low???? high

Weather: glorius then showery

Bait: frozen crab, mac, lug

Rigs: 3 hook flapper, pully

Results: small plaice, tub gurnard

Report: had a window to get out saturday and not expecting much arranged to meet jhcabs
had the rod in the water at one with nothing happening

nice calm sea - sun was out - first time fishing in a t shirt all year

nothing was looking at baits - jh turns up and shows me pic of a 7lb bass he caught the night before - happy days

fished on - the clouds came - jumper on - then jacket - first shower

noticed my flapper baits started to get stripped

jh spoke about leaving and then i pulled in a tiddler plaice - first of the year

jh packed up and left with high hopes for darkness - and he was right!

i reeled in again to find a nice tub gurnard on the end - first for me in 3 years

2 new species for the year, daytime fishing, happy days

nice to meet you jh!

The Gurnard and Plaice seem to feed down there early evening,,had a few ourselves a couple of weeks ago.
An old angler/diver mate told me that gurnard swim with the Ray.
Still it's nice to get a few fish in the bright,,well done.
