courtown north 18/08/12

People:

Duration:all night

Tide: all stages

Weather: sunny partly cloudy, wind south @ 10kmh

Bait: crab and rag

Rigs:pulley

Results: 2 pup hounds




Report: alot of people on the beach sat night.. a few fish caught by anyone i was talking to, all small. dabs, dogs, hounds

thanks to the 3 lads from this site who gave me a few rag, i would have blanked otherwise

atleast you have saved your blank even fish is small, well done
is great when someone helping you, "every little helps"

Wasnt a great night fishing wise Donal, all we had were small fish,,one of the lads had a pup tope.
We fished it for an hour the next morning and got zilch.
You were wellcome to the rag we had plenty :D .

I was on ballymoney late on Sat night with the young lad. Some amount of lads fishing there too and a load camping down the south end. All same species as yourselves. Young lad had a nice flounder but the rest were small. We left when we start getting eels every cast :evil: Nice to be out though.

Do crab work up that way or is it rag only, going Friday night for a comp.. Was in donamore last night and the fish we had where on rag...

Yea apparently rag is the way to go round there. It was my first time fishing there. But tbh id always bring some crab. You just never know

Good crab will out fish rag in courtown any day Rag is ok for pups but you want crab for the big lads

I think I'll bring 6 crab for when the hounds are around, do ya know if maddies work well up there?

That was a stupid question by me only realised after I posted it, if ya tried ta cast them maddies a 100 yards there be Notting on the hooks by the time it hit the water..
