Hi all,
Can anyone advise me on a decent fixed spool reel? I'm planning to use it for Pollack spinning and some general beach fishing over semi rough ground. I don't want to spend loads of money on it either; up to about €100.
thanks,
-F

if its for close in beach angling, spinning etc and semi rough ground perhaps one of the recondidtioned penn spin fishers, or a shimano baitrunner 8000, or mustad basss.braid reel? theres a lot out there, probably best to check any back issues of sea angler , total sea fishing etc for reviews on a few different models.
Not the BigPhil from Irish Angler mag, I'm the original, i swear!!!!

I use a Mitchell Armada 7000 for all my shore spinning, copes with anything i've used it for even beach fishing for sharks & rays when in Australia. Can pick them up for around £45 online.
As Phil mentioned the Penn spinfishers would be a good choice for rough ground fishing etc in 8500 size, built to last and can take S**t loads of punishment
Shimano & Daiwa have a few reels that would cover your needs for under €100 if you search around online.
Daiwa Emcast, Shimano Biomaster, Aerlex, Navi etc
There's also the Penn Surfmaster & Captiva reels.
All down to your own preference really..
