Not too much to report, but I thought I do it all same. Dug me own bait at baldoyle. First time doing it and was great "fun".

Forecasts were excellent, nice SE and a perfect surf running. I had a BBQ organised for around 5.30pm and beers were chillin'. No pressure, didn't really care of a blank, as I had a nice fall back plan.

Had a bit of interest from a founder, rid tip bouncing like a ruler. No joy though. After about an hour I had nice bang on the rod, had it on, but it managed to free itself without my assistance. One more bass enduced genuflection from the rod tip was all that I got from the day.

Using the Abu stx70 with the daiwa supercast 2-4 bass rod. I must say the more I use this rod, the more it opens to you. Seeing the bite from the flattie was so easy to distinguish from possible weed. I really does cast superbly with a 3oz weight using a fixed spool. I'm not a great caster, however during big casts, my lug does tend to depart the rig. The tip on this rod really does work and cushion strong casts.
