North Wicklow - 10 Week Tope Challenge
Haven’t done a fishing report in ages & it’s been very quiet on here so I’ll fire away.
We’ve got a 10 week plan to fish the North Wicklow Beaches in search of Tope, one session a week for 4 hours after work, (roughly 200 rod hours by Christmas). Anyone who wants to tag along and give it a go, the more bait in the water the better!
Session 1: 09/08, 7 – 11pm (16 Rod Hours) LW 11pm
Anglers: Roger, Sherwood & Myself
Last night drew a blank for the tope on a dropping tide, but we did have whiting, dogs & a solitary mackerel on a Toby.

Re: North Wicklow - 10 Week Tope Challenge
Hey Folks,
Conditions for this Wednesday look good for a crack at the Tope. Slack wind & tides make for ideal conditions.
We’ll be meeting in Shankill Angling Centre @ 6, Andy will have various bait & the tackle required to land a tope should you require it. After that we’ll be heading to Kilcoole Beach straight over the tracks.
See you then!

Session 2: 05/09, 7 – 11pm (25 Rod Hours) LW 9:30pm
Anglers: Roger, Shane, Sherwood, Robbie & Myself
Blanked for the tope over LW last night, superb conditions, not a scrap of weed about and flat calm. Plenty of fodder fish around too, we had whiting, flats & dogs, spun for mackerel but no joy.
Used mackerel, fresh & Frozen, whiting & flounders for bait. Nobody said it was going to be easy!
