ABU 6500CT Sports Mag - Spares Needed

At the suggestion of various members and given the magazines will run a mile from criticising a piece of kit, here is your chance to tell us what you really think about a rod, reel, line, lure... keep it legal please!

ABU 6500CT Sports Mag - Spares Needed

#1 Post by glengormley-gavin »

Hello,

does anyone have spare parts available for the above reel?

I need a mag adjuster (the circular part located around end plate) plus the part that connects this to the actual mag.

Part numbers -

1078093
1080208

I have been waiting weeks for the part from Pure Fishing (UK Parts Supplier).

I would even consider buying a non-functioning reel to retain for other spare parts if anyone has one.

Any other suggestions on where to get the parts would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Jude

I was looking for the number after I posted. They have a contact sheet on their web site. I completed that and they e-mailed back to me with the details. They were very helpful though!

ABU is now distributed by Pure Fishing in the uk on 00441606 836921 which I think is the same one you have already!

Good luck

Don't mean to rub salt into sensitive parts, but for multipliers, I stick to using Penn reels for sea fishing. Apart from being good reels, their UK service is first class and parts that I have requested have been sent by return of post, with advice and without charge!

The Abu Mag is a great reel and I wish you the best of luck with finding the spare parts.

Thanks for all the help lads - I got sorted through a contact in liverpool - if anyone wants the details - PM me.

Esox - I agree on the Penn - I also have a 525 Supermag and I love it to bits. The ABU is not as good but it is lighter and miore suited to beach work.
