Kerry - Brandon - 1st Session - 7 bass
People: My Brother in Law
Duration: 5pm until 7.30
Tide: rising for 1 hour and rest of the drop
Weather: heavy rain for 90%
Bait: Lug
Rigs: single hook
Results: 7 Bass
Report:
So my bro in law went down to fish "That Mark" we have in Brandon, but unfortunately it was hammered with weed and unfishable. So he moved to our reserve mark. A mark we have not fished in ages as our preference is for the first mark. First cast and he was into a bass of approx 2Ib, very next cast was approx 3Ib. Then a few casts later a bass of approx 2Ib again, followed by another a short while later. It went quiet for about 30 mins over the top of the tide and then the smaller schoolies turned up. He caught 3 schoolies and then it went quiet for a while. His next fish was a flounder at which point he decided that the bass had moved on and called it a day to head for a pint. He said he missed at least 4 fish that got off half way in and was rattled and bait stripped countless times. He said the weather was unreal and in between showers got a few pics on his mobile. But said it was fishing brilliant, just as we would expect. 7 bass per angler is about average we expect from the first mark so this mark was a nice substitute. He said all bass were in great condition, even the schoolies were very plump. He is down for the next few days so I will drop a report up if I have time over the weekend but by all accounts he thinks its fishing just fine.

Re: Kerry - Brandon - 1st Session - 7 Bass
Went luring for pollock off Cuan pier back in ventry yesterday evening and had two bass hammer an 8cm soft sandeel no idea what weight they were but I'd say they were around two - three pounds. A few lads have come into Garvey's saying they've had some great bass fishing out there but it's very inconsistent
A bad days fishing is still better then a good day at the office.

Re: Kerry - Brandon - 1st Session - 7 Bass
Been there last bank holiday weekend, because of the same kind of report:)however catch only one mackrel(when we hired a boat) ,no fish from shore ,because of the weather coundition ,saying that, I belive this is the place if you like to catch bass(if its brezze and less rain)plus good pint serve in harbor friendly people around too.
I saw people catching nearly 50 fish maybe more over 2 hour boat trip and I saw some photos around brandon bass , they are unreall.
ps;bring lots lots lotttssssssssssssss of rain gear because you will use them all:)
self driven boat 30 yoyos first hour and then 20 yoyos extra hours.

Spoke to my bro in law over the weekend. He blanked every other session? Said the bass did just not turn up again. So weird. Same mark next day same time etc..not a tap.
