Slosh 20 or 30?
As these are priced the same in most places, and the only difference being line capacity and therefore larger spool, why wouldn't you buy the 30 over 20? Is it the weight/ balance impact on the rod ?

Re: Slosh 20 or 30?
hey big boned,i have never used a sloshy 30,but i can tell you my 20 is a lovely little reel...no complaints at all,at all...shes a little tractor of a thing, easily serviced and maintained,i think (but am not sure) that the 20 is a 20lbs class reel and the 30 a 30lbs class...
best of luck gettin the young fella hooked!!

the 20 casts well and is a good alrounder , can use 15lb to 30lb line , the 30 is very wide and heavy ( imo hard to get the brakes set rite), more a small boat real or for rock fishing

Yeah, Slosh 20 is all you need. If fishing for Tope, then maybe 30.

So 20 more for general use, how would it fair upto light boat work ( not above 20-25lb)

Thanks for the replies lads, sounds like I need to go looking for a 20 then, just thought it looked a wee bit 'small' on a rod but obviously not
Cheers- wish us luck!!

As said unless you want to use heavier b/s lines the twenty will be fine but IMHO I use the sealine x30sha and there is only a little difference in the physical dimensions to my penn 525s.

Hmm reckon I'm gonna have to have a bash cos originally I was thinking 30and my main worry was I'm a big fat fingered guy used to a bigger reel but also looking for versatility rather than just beef!
Thanks again

Re: Slosh 20 or 30?
computer glitch there.sorry.the 20 is a grand strong little reel, plenty of thumbspace too, perfect for general fishing and if ya need a little more beef,ya can buy a longer more torquier version of the winding arm which aint too expensive..i have a love affair with mine..but i'm sure the 30 owners do too,not much of a difference, but if your lookin for versatility the 20 is the one...Bigboned wrote:looking for versatility rather than just beef!
