Hi Onur,
Images were set to 1meg, I've increased it to 2 for the moment. The problem is that hosting space costs money.
I have 4gigs out of 30 left on the server
30G 26G 4.1G 87%
If I start running out of space and need to upgrade the package I'll have to pay more money every year. Also I have a traffic allowance every month - if there are too many large pictures downloaded I could exceed it.

There is really no need to have large images in a web page - it is better practice to resize them to an appropriate size for the web (I resize mine to about 100k - 200k)

Thanks lads, but we're ok for the moment - I'll just keep an eye on the space (I get an email about backups and space used every morning). We ran out of space before and the site was down for a few hours :)

A picture will always look better than a bunch of words 8)

Re writing reports, I know the feeling I've lost a report or two.
What I do now is to write them in Word first and then do a cut and paste.
At least if things go wrong I still have them on the laptop

If you set up an account on Photbucket or something similar you can just copy and paste the link when doing reports. It's much faster and you get to keep all your photos online together. You can also edit them before uploading. Usually lighter and darker, making the fish look bigger is harder

Well done Onur and co  ,,,,,,great photos,,,,,,,,,,,i take it the smoothie was taken on the rise. The dog is a beauty,,,,,,the double of an old dog of mine(RIP Max   ). It's frustrating when you lose a report after putting all the effort in  . Still it's nice to have the photos, the young lad looks really happy with his fish

Well done Onur, Onur jnr, and Aslan :D
brilliant pic of the wee man holding up a great smoothie 8) 8)

i'll always maintain that the easiest way and quickest way to resize pics is to:
1. open your picture in Microsoft Office Picture Manager (right click on the icon of the image and choose Open With ...)
2. click Edit Pictures... and in the menu that appears on the right-hand side click on Resize
3. from Predefined width x height: click on the little drop-down menu and select Web - Large (640 x 480px) or whichever size that suits you. Press OK once selected
4. the image is now resized but must be saved to a location (e.g. desktop) so that you can then upload it later. NB It can be useful to rename the resized image at this stage so as to be able to readily distinguish it between the original unsized image :)

hope that this is clear
hope this helps for next time
Charlie
