Report:So thought id try a different venue one that i could bring the kids so they could have a go at fishing. Friday went up to lough beg down by Ringaskiddy in the hope of a bass. Nice day hot weather and plenty of Mullet cruising around didnt catch a bean but the kids got the hang of it pretty quick ....especially my 5 year old lad ....got a good cast on him already......mainly using surface poppers for the kids so not to get snagged up....me using eery damned lure i own lol ....didnt catch a thing

Saturday packed my spinning gear and headed down for the morning tide to Ardnahinch very misty and foggy but very mild. Lots of weed about but waders on and spent about an hour on an incoming tide with the lures ....didnt catch a bean neither, so decided to head to the breakwater wall in ballycotton to check for some mackerel. Fish the next 3 hours there a few others turned up and no one caught anything.

Sunday decided to go to ringaskiddy way again to the bridge going over to Hogbolin only to find the traveleers have set up camp down there so went to the bridge by the crematorium and had a bash there plenty of fish jumping but nothing jumping on the line.....weather this last few days has totally destroyed the fishing. Nothing caught.

Not often i get to go on sessions like this so not disheartened thought id head up kinsale way for a bit of a change on monday. Got to Garretstown strand and set up my two beach caster one on a flatfish rig and one on a treble ....black lug and tipped with mackerel strips. First cast out and the rod started tipping boom fish on ........pulled it in and yes a bloddy doggy on the end ......oh well fish a couple more hours there but no more to be had.

So leaving it off for a couple of days as the missus gets a bit funny about it....but come saturday ....bait up rods in car off for another session....hopefully the weather will be a bit more in my favour. But the kids want to go again so be looking for a deepwater venue for them to have a go with the feathers and not too many snags for them. But all in all got soaked with the weather but loved every god damned minute of it lo l
Catches for 2012: Pollock, Mackerel, Dogfish, Sea Trout, Ballen Wrasse

And more to come on the end of my line ............
