People: Borough SAC .....16 in all
Duration[/b ]8 hours
Tide: Rising & falling
Weather: Mental, Sunny with really cold NE winds in morning followed by warmer strong SW winds in afternoon
Bait: Rag, frozen mackerel, mussel
Rigs[/b: Various
Results : 08.00-12.00 . Fishing was generally much slower and more patchy than normal for Kilmore. On our boat there was only 1 cod caught, some Pollock and wrasse plus dogs ( on the drift!!!!). Scores were much lower than normal.
What was conspicuous was the total absence of mackerel. No doubt this has a huge effect on the larger fish who no doubt feed on them.
12.00-16.00 was at anchor. Results were even slower. Dogs were the major catch but there were also some very nice cod, pollock and ling plus others. Score were again exceptionally low.
Thanks again to John Deveraux and Dick Hayes for great day out. It wasn’t for their lack of trying that we didn’t get fish. As usual they searched high and low, north and south for the fish!!!!!!
