People:Me

Duration:2pm-5pm

Tide:low and rising

Weather:sunny, northish wind

Bait

Rigs:mini lure

Results:Small pollacks 20+

Report: Saturday morning my miss asked me to bring her up in the Antrim town for shopping. the only good thing there is couple of marks where I could spend a few hours at fishing, becouse the shopping is a pain in bones, the worst thing I would like to do, so we gone.
I only took a light spinning with the small reel and just 7lb line on it. I was fished this spot last year with jelly worms, but seems they were far to big for small pollack as there is plenty of them, so this time I had only few mini lures, that is used in fresh water for perch.
I arrived to the mark at 2pm and very first cast produced small pollack, less then pound, i took a picture and released him to grow up, and so every few casts were coming with the fish. Side wind was a bit too strong for that kind of fishing, line was bending and was hard for lure to sink whole way down, but fish seemed didn't bother to come up for it.
Even fish were small, but was totaly great sport and of course many times better than walk with missus between shops :)
With this specific lure I was fished up in donegal and even bigger pollacks were gorge themselfs, I noticed that small or very small lures can save your blanks when fish is inactive and when big lures is completely are ignored. Just a negative side of it is that you must use pretty light lines, and snaggs can be the issue.

Thanks Dan, i think you would get them at any tackle shop for fresh water tackle.
I'v cought wrasse too, just by different tactics used, as for pollack I would reel evenly or with short pause, and for wrasse just keep a lure slowlly bouncing on the bottom, also I found that ordinary twisters that immitating worms are better too
