#1 Post by penfold »

People:andyk85 and myself

Duration:930pm-230am

Tide:rise and drop

Weather:mild with northeast breeze

Bait:rag,mussel,frozen peeler,squid

Rigs:3 hook flappers and pulleys

Results: blank

Report:
nothing to report here lads.. was down with kids visiting the parents, gave andy a ring to see wat he was at..nothing..grand bait was ordered aquick dig round the freezer for peeler and any extra bits and search of the shed for fishing gear as mine was in dublin..kids asleep straight out the door to catch the riseing tide and a game of paper, rock scissors to decide on the venue.. i won so andy picked tinneberna. it looked nice and fishy with a bit of colour in the water.. set up and baits in the water by 930..we got a few touches but nothing connecting, the crabs were feasting hard on the baits in the water and the sand hoppers on any exposed bait on the beach, never seen so many sand hoppers out.. the weed picked up when the tide turned and the wind dropped.. we decided to call it a nite at 230 as andy had a drive home and my 2 animals would be up round 7.. it was nice to get out for the few and watch a red moon rise..i must do someting about this blank streak..

Pretty disastrous alright, i made it home in one piece about half 3. Speed camera van at the beehive at 3:15 am trying to catch a few stragglers rushing home, i bet he caught more than we did ha ha. he didn't catch me. It was nice to get out, thought we might of had better luck with high tide coming just as darkness fell.
It just wasn't to be, tried everything but nothing.  . I put it down to all the rain on friday. All the fresh water killing off the fishing on this spot. Ah well nice evening and plenty of fresh air with all the huffing, puffing and head scratching trying to rustle sum thing out other than crabs

That's why why we call it fishing one good night makes up for all the blanks. No weed on the rise just a little bit on the drop not major well fishable. Hope you had better luck than us. Where you thinking of heading Sparkey
