Not the best of conditions to go out but thought I'd give it a go anyway,I followed the tide out not much going on didn't even see a single mullet ,was hoping for a seatrout or bass ,will try again ,the water was fairly murky after that northerly wind, but their was clear patches so I concentrated my fly casts their along the weed beds no sign of fish though but plenty of terns diving ,I will try again ,the front of the island looks ideal territory for trout and bass ,and the back is deeper water with kelp so their should be wrasse and pollack ,didn't bother trying the sea was very murky, and seeing as I was there I climbed into the tower not an easy climb in chest waders but the view was worth it

I walked straight out from the rugby club the spit is fairly straight,I went home before the flood started but the ground is shallow and the tide dropped quick enoughsparkey+1 wrote:Didnt know if anyone could wade over to the island on lw where do you start from at the rock looking straight over to the island beside the seats!!!. If anyone does go and climb into the tower their is no floor only the supporting walls are standing on the inside ,the stairs up to the top are to the left of the entrance ,bring a torch it's fairly dark inside
