poolbeg 3rd & 4th july

People:3rd myself & sparkie +1 (dave) 4th myself and 2 mates jay & errol

Duration: 3rd 8.30pm- 12.30am 4th 8pm-1.30am

Tide:rising

Weather:not bad winds from the south

Bait:softies,rag,lug,razor

Rigs:pullys,flappers

Results:3rd me 5 hounds dave 1 hound 4th 40+ mack me 7 hounds errol 5 hounds




Report:
3rd with the tides high and the weather not to bad myself and dave gave the south wall ago just to stay local and things worked out well for us we started about 8.30 but the fishing was slow but as the light started to fade and the tide got higher the hounds came on noting of any great size but hound all the same and only 10 min from home i ended up with 5 and lost 1 and dave had 1 lost 1 and missed many more but we finshed the night happy just as the rain was starting

4th got a call from the lad asking if i fancyed a trip out with kit dunne on sunday as there was a spot to be filled so i jumped on the chance told the lad about the session the night b4 and they said that they wanted to head to poolbeg to see if there was any mack around for bait for the boat trip then i told them i still had bait left over from the night b4 and asked if they fancyed a hound session after the macky bashing as they have never caught one they we well up for it we arrived down not long after low water and left all the big gear in the car and just took the mack gear with us for the long walk to the lighthouse we fish down the top for a couple of hours and had about 40 mack between us then back to the car and got the hound gear ready first cast in both me and errol were into fish and the then errol had a run of hound in the first hour then i started picking up fish on every cast poor jay could not connect with one but theres alway next time overall a great 2 nights fishing only 10 mins from home

Great night out Alan and yea we got away with the weather just starting to lash as we had packed up guess that dance and chant with all the nice words in it :oops: ****** i was doing when I missed the 3/4 hounds and lost the one at the rocks kept the rain away :lol: :lol:

Thats some amount of mach for the boat trip dont forget the wire trace..... and fair play to Errol for landing a few hound and Jay m8 next time.... its your time... and only 15 mins for me back home after dropping of Alan.... Happy days and cut down the cost of juice.... 8)

M8 the pics of the hound look a bit small than the night before or where they about the same 4/4.5 pound.

we had a few smaller but much the same size 3.5-4 lb i had 2 around the 5lb mark and errol lost a good fish at the rocks but you cant win them all
