A little birdie tells me the shad have made an appearance. The rain may not help now...

was down last sat night on the strong tides jd not a sniff of one,head down this sat but tide very week tho so not hopeful

The weak tide wont make a difference Barry. They run the river on the big tides towards the end of April / Early May. Once there up river then will be there regardless. They will be there for 4 -6 weeks and then they run back to the Ocean after they spawn.

I would say the recent rain scuppered you. The river will need less flow and colour.

hopefully not a silly question but will there be a prize for reports on each of the two nominated species? i.e. two prizes per month?

Just wondering lads if I caught a fish say a garfish now in june could I enter it in the july- tope & garfish comp or does it have to be caught in that month, and if yes how would you know by a pic? Cheers : )

Cod, Whiting, flounder, coalfish, bass, pollack, sea trout, poor cod, pouting, dogfish, sea scorpion, 3 bearded rockling, blonde ray, painted ray, turbot.

Species 2013: Coalie, East Coast Codling, Smoothounds, And hopefully a back opp to get back fishing soon...
