Rod for sea trout & Bass

Need a bit of advice here on rod selection everyone.

I have been fishing with a bushwacker xnlt 8 foot, 15-50gram rod which i really love. I bought this rod primarily for bass fishing but seem to catch mainly sea trout

The problem is that the bushwacker is very stiff with not a lot of give which makes me very nervous when a sea trout is on the end. I seem to loose a little too many for my liking

Can anyone recommend an 8 foot rod with a fast action that i can use soft plastics & lures but with a little more give than the bushwacker ?

Am i dreaming or can someone suggest something.

The savagegear jig & spin is a nice rod for what your looking and there cheap but not nasty . No complaints from me over the last few years using one.

One option would be to go with a longer rod, say in the 10-11 foot which should be less rigid. I know it does not suit everyone especially when wading but ... and the Mike Ladle Surespin is a cheap bass rod with a soft tip which should give you better dampening on ST runs.

What you want exists...it comes at a price though!

The Illex rods are a great option but budget wont stretch that far

Try a Daiwa Proteus if you are looking a budget Rod with a great Tip Action. I use it Spinning for Trout! You can also use it for plugging Bass.

I was in Henry's last year looking to get the powermesh, settled on the buswhacker. However Henry did say the powermesh was ideally suited for seat rout due to its through action.
