friday night on a southwest cork strand

#1 Post by alfiebass »

People: myself

Duration:10pm -2am

Tide low to high, nice surf

Weather: dry and calm

Bait: ragworm

Rigs: two hooked clip down

Results: 1 flounder- 4 bass to 4 pound

Report:
first time to fish this small strand,
arrived around 9.30pm to an empty beach. Started fishing from the middle of this quiet spot with only an otter to keep
me company. As he kept fishing in the surf within about twenty foot from where I was standing. Had my first bass, a small
schoolie around 11pm. The next bass around twenty mins later, which was 4.5lb which was long but very thin, next came the flounder which swallowed the hook. Later on I was joined by another angler by which time is midnight, decided he was going try lure fishing, but to no avail. After discussing the fishing, he decided to call it a night, so I recast into the surf and had my next two bass both around the 4lb mark - ended what was a very enjoyable evening!
