Thanks for that . I walked the channel on Fintra strand on Sunday . Its a bit early in the year for collecting sandeel but from June onwards I would
say its a good spot. Cant find any lugworm on that beach.

Go 10 mins in the road to Kilcar, turn left in the village at "O Garas Pub" then head out that road towards the football field, only a couple of minutes, then just past the football field take your first right and it will take you down to a little pier, on a low tide anywhere from the slipway over to the back of the football field you will fill buckets of lug! Good size lug here and will not take you long to get some.

Markj , Thanks very much for that information . At the moment Im sorting out a new house in the Fintra area and i am there only 1 day a week . Looking forward to lots of fishing during the summer months and I will certainly try that place for lugworm. Keep me informed of any catches.

Also , do you know of any Bluefin catches or sightings close to shore in that area as i hope to be on the water for the summer.

Thanks , Dave.

Well it will be at least autumn before you would see any, but i dont think you will see any from the shore unless you have a telescope!! You will need to go futher out, If you want to speak to a man that has caught one of these beast pm tuna hunter, he will know more about the tuna fishing.
