Lure choice in coloured water

#1 Post by daveyboy »

Lads can anyone advise what lures would be best for sea trout in coloured water? I've been trying for the last few months to get my first sea trout fishing the north dublin estuaries. I'm fishing the first few hours of the flood and using silver and blue tazzies (both the small ones and the slightly bigger one - 12 gm i think) and copper/black tazzies. I've tried small silver tobies and gold meps too. Unfortunately the easterly winds hav been making the water fairly mucky which I don't think is helping. Would I be right in thinking gold/copper colours are better than silver in coloured water?
Cheers
