Need sone advice on bottom fishing for dogs, ray, smoothies,
Lads just wondering when fishing over sand for dogs, ray, smoothies, etc, do the fish swim with the tide or against it to feed.in other words are u better off letting more line out with the tide or keeping it tight to the boat.any advice appreciated.cheers

Re: Need sone advice on bottom fishing for dogs, ray, smoothies,
It depends on the depth of water and the speed of the tide.Dogs are scent feeders and seem to swim uptide towards the bait in my opinion.Always keep in direct touch with your baits.Use braid not mono this helps particularly for striking.
Don't let off too much line and don't let your lead drag or bounce on the bottom.Let bites develop, then strike firmly and definetely.
Hope this helps.
