last cast lad wrote:great fishing and great report, as usual you guys seem to always find the fish, love the wee goby always think the mini species are mad looking things
cheers man. the minis are always a handy back up when the open sea is too rough. almost all inner harbour marks will throw them up around the weedy and kelpy areas  also save the blushes from blanking
MAC wrote:Great report lads. Good to see that you managed some fish even if the weather was doing it's best to push you off some of your marks...
cheers mac. i've given up on weather forecast sites
they seem to get it wrong more often than they get it right :?

Ferg
thanks ferg. i just hope this weather holds out for the trip. the downings trips are our favourite on our boat fishing calendar every year :D
yngkmd wrote:excellent report, personally i hate the fact that this good weather has come around while im in the middle of moving house and all my fishing stuff is packed up.
but at least i can still get my fishing done by proxy :D
im a glad to see a good number of reports up after the weekend, i fully expected the number of reports to drop since the Bass ban is on.
ahh, gutted brian. but you'll be settled in soon enough man. i'm sure blackhead will get a good rattle as soon as you are sorted  :D :D

Monty
thanks monty. we usually just throw a conger rod out when we fish any rock or harbour marks. i bought a little electronic bite alarm that attaches to the rod. so if you get a run, HAPPY DAYS!. but if not, theres nothing lost for it. a lot of the time you'll get nothing, but every now and again you'll come good :P .

thanks very much for the ID davy. i thought it might be the case man. but in my book, you should never be too proud to ask if you don't know something. this oul fishing malarky is a steep learning curve :D . there's always something new to be discovered on every trip man :D
as for pete, i reckon it's sacrilege to walk down a pier without a rod in your hand

kerrywez wrote:Great report Al, as usual and what a great bit of fishing you enjoyed. Regards Wez
thanks wez. i was back there yesterday and had a nice conger and a few pollack to 51cm. but sadly a few chinese lads turned up and killed everything they caught :( it was the first time they fished the spot and were amazed with the quality of the fish. looks like it's gonna get hammered when they bring their mates back with them. i tried to educate them by explaining that we put 99% of what we catch back in order to preserve the spot. but i think it fell on deaf ears :( :(
