As promised reports are here!!!!

Bellavista Angling off to a flying start last weekend when we welcomed a group of Dutch Pike anglers from Tightlines.nl accompanied by by Henk Simonsz. As pike fishing is closed for the month of May in Holland so all 12 anglers were keen to see if sea-angling would live up to all they had readin the dutch magazines and on forums......

Day 1 Saturday 19th May:
Fishing was tough in a choppy sea... but the lads did get to christen their pike rods and soft plastics. NO BAIT!!!!

Day 2 Sunday May 20th:

The fleet of Bellavista boats left from Marlogue with Kevin and Jim Clohessey to fish off shore reefs within 4 miles of Roches Point in super conditions, again NO BAIT!!!

A slow start on a dropping tide was more than made up for when the tide started to flood with some excellent cod & pollock caught (up to 90cm!!!). There was also some small ling, grey gurnads and pouting about! All of them falling for the colourful soft plastics...

To say these anglers were happy is an understatment..... SEVERAL have even asked for prices for September!!!

Day 3 (the final one  ) Monday 21st May

8 A.M full of excitement from the previous day the lads headed back to the off-shore reef and caught some fine Cod (up to 95 cm!!!!) and also caught some nice pollock. The afternoon was to prove difficult and we moved 6 miles to another reef which produced lots of fish but not to the quality of the previous day....
However in pike and zander terms it was a busy day and one these anglers will never forget!!!
Light gear, NO BAIT and CLEAN boats...
A great way to start the season !!!!!

The next group will arrive Saturday!
Watch this space.......

I was checking out the Bellavista website and couldn't find any info on prices etc, just a number to call. Is there anywhere where you can see their standard prices upfront?

O! Great pics and report guys :)

Re: Bellavista self-drive boats French Anglers 25-05-2012

French Anglers Friday 25th May 2012

Pasacl & Alain took advantage of the Bellavista Self-Drive Boats on their way back to France. They faced easterly winds up to 15 knots but being French lure anglers who claim sea bass up to 7 Kg’s back home a 1.5 meter swell would not deter them from going to catch some Irish Pollock and cod!!!They used an array of soft plastics from the black minnow family on their day out….. They were so happy with what they catch that they are coming back in September for a full weeks fishing and will also take two more anglers with them!!!
Dutch also here this weekend reports early next week….. Watch this space!!!!!
