To be honest with you i cant understand what you mean by this :?
bandit55 wrote:! can you get bait in dublin john????? no? ever wonder why? !!!
I gather all of my bait in Dublin, and as a rule i dont and never have and think i never will buy bait  ever wonder why ? what?
bandit55 wrote:by the way setting tyres is creating a mini eco system for crabs to bread! !!!
it is also causing trip hazards and eye sores to the general public that dont realise why they are put there.
for crabs to bread, i think you mean breed! the chances are that you will be removing females that are about to moult so in reality they will never become breeding stock if they are going to be used as bait  so your mini eco breeding system idea would not have a peeled peelers leg to stand on

Oh I see 12 post now and next time you post a reply to me spell my name right maybe you spent to much time going for your bait on HW instead of LW  and the salt has muddled up what ever is between the ears which i dont think is a lot..... As for buying your bait guess up dont want the hassle of digging or maybe that's to complicated for you.... Great way to get yourself notice on the site and you wonder why nobody has welcomed you.... Respect you better look the word up in an Oxford Dictionary or shoud the be a WEXFORDDictionary :P

Unless you can claim ownership to the coast then it is First up Best dressed tbh

If you lay claim to the traps then register them by all means.

Then go to court for dumping

What has respect got to do with anything the chap has every right to say what he wants on this forum and I agree with what he is saying you shouldn't be robbing other peoples traps you's wouldnt go out on a boat and rob lobster pots so why would you do it to crab traps

ON topic, There is peelers in dublin and I have got them from rock pools, under rocks and anywhere they can hide.

OFF Topic: Admin sorry for this but I cant bite my tongue :)

First off im a Dublin angler, and fishing in Dublin is good if you know where to fish!....

Second I am no different to any other angler out there just because I am born in Dublin!

Third Bandit! Peeler crabs can be collected form ANYWHERE they want to hide under a rock, not just in wexford.

Forth, It seems that dubs are being classed as poaching munchers here and I take a very big offense to that, I am a catch and release man, I also dig my own bait and only what I need.

Bandit, If I am on a beach collecting and I see others traps, guess what. I will not go near them and Im a dub? explain that!
Also you talk of respect, let any man come to the Dublin shore and he will be welcomed and helped, let any dub travel outside and he will be stoned to death.... Grow up and earn your respect.

Now if you want I can show you a few spots in Dublin for collecting and I can actually bring you to spots in Dublin and wicklow that on the right day will fish better than wexford!

Just let me know...............

ON Topic, During the summer I bring my kids lookin for peelers and theres plenty of spots.. guess where.. DUBLIN.. theres also tyres along a protected stretch of bay a designated SAC, any given day you'll half a dozen or so at them, but where I find mine are away from that area and its easier going. I dig my own bait guess where... DUBLIN and bandit55, the rag i dig would bring tears to your eyes. I fish all over the country as a quick view of any post I have put up will see....North South East and West why? Cause i Can alittle thing called FREEDOM.

Now Tex one method i use for finding crabs is go out on the Low water (as its running out) and you know the handrake? its got three prongs? I use that to lift weed at the tidal rocks, make sure you place rocks down the same way, (you'll offten find peelers under the weed just at the edge of the rocks, If in summer during warmer weather, the males will be on top of female peelers, the males will be hard, yet the females will be in peel ;) (and the males will be agressive, seemingly they dont like being disturbed)

By the exactly as Sparks43 said ..Permit please... Just a question thought and this is serious, regarding tyres, when a tyre is "Dumped" How are we (anglers in general) supposed to know who it belongs to?? Think about it? is Your name and address on it? are they colour coded? cause you could have ANYONE say ..."their MY tyres, mind you Im sure the EPA would LOVE to hear that!" Lads that go pot fishing Most use ID buoys to mark them, the ones I know have paid permits to do so.
