courtown 6/5/12

#1 Post by Tofish »

People:me james and kieran

Duration:1800/2200

Tide:full at 2100

Weather:bit nippy

Bait:razor/rag

Rigs:

Results:a happy chappy

james rang to see if i fancied wetting a line..thought he meant a bit of spinning locally and was,nt in the humour but then he said lets try wicklow/wexford area...the interest grew ..had my son with me so had to see if he would like to go ...a resounding yes so sambos made and plenty of sweets (for me ) :D.. no time to dig bait so it was just razor from the freezer...anyway we set off and when we hit the m50 kieran wanted to know 'are we there yet'..told him that we had to go through dublin and wicklow before we hit county wexford,5 mins later he asked are we in wex yet :D so told him to count the exit signs and when we get to 23 we will be there...1 confused little boy when signs changed from 16 back to 10 ??...anyway reached courtown and first cast kieran had a bite ...doggie no.1 ...lad beside us was catching flounder after flounder on rag and when he was going gave us whatever was leftover (thanks) but alas we caught nothing on them...james was in with another dog then kieran again with his second ever wow wow...i had not got a tap( same bait same distance ) and was reminded of this every few mins with 'what score is it dad '..james got another dog and while reeling it in had kieran in his ear singing 'get off the hook get off the hook' :D.. landed..so scores 2 2 0 .. K got another doggie soon after and really rubbed it in 'what type of fisherman are you dad will i show you how to catch them '..eventually i did get 1 just before we packed up ..so final score was kieran 3 james 2 me 1 and we heard all about it on the way home till he fell asleep....did'nt get what we were looking for but a very enjoyable evening and another little lad hooked

That is one happy kid!

The best bit will be when he is explaining to his mates about how is just like a little shark and they want to go too!

Has he go the hang of only catching something when you are in the middle of setting up you rod or are in the middle of messing with hooks and bait or otherwise have your hands full?
