Kayak(s): ride 135

Duration:7.30- 10.30

Tide: Rising

Weather:Beautiful

Bait: Rag and Squid

Rigs: Everything in the box

Results: 1 Codling

Report: Headed to Dun Laoghaire for 7ish this morning. It was a fine cracking day , sun shining from the heavens :D Got set up and headed out to some deep water (60ft) dropped one rod down baited with rag and the other hawk eye tipped with squid.Got a few taps but no takers. Let myself drift for awhile before paddling back to go again not much happening on the second drift either.Switched rigs to see if it would make a difference but again no fish. Disappointed ,I headed for some very rough ground in the hope of maybe a cod  I raided the stationary press in work for paper clips instead of a swivel to the lead. Worked a treat only lost a weight normally Id loose everything in the box :x The weather was that good I was enjoying the paddle and just relaxing when the small rod took a bump. At first I though it was snagged but when the line start peeling from the small silver max abu I was thinking lovely blanked saved.Up came the best fish Ive caught this year which I let live to see another day
