I'd be very interested to hear how this is working out for you,
How much are you charging?
Would there be much interest if I started selling Rag/Lug ?

Thanks man, you're 100% right as i've witnessed how some people operate. I guess maybe I shouldn't bother then as there's too many risks, ie. strangers calling when i'm not in, I keep expensive rods etc in my shed, dodgy rivals, etc, etc. I guess the risks outweigh the rewards and people can get jealous even if you're making little money for a lot of work. Just takes an anonymous phone call from any coward to screw you over and I actually worked with this truly horrible guy who used to do that to people despite getting up to allsorts himself!! Pity too as I was really up for it and had even just acquired a fridge and freezer this morning. Ah well, guess I always wanted that sort of setup for myself anyway.
Cheers for all your feedback guys, much appreciated!!

What's wrong with paying your taxes?
It'll keep officialdom off your back an you're happy in the knowledge that any fecker making phonecalls is wasting their time. I'd imagine you'd have to be turning over quite a bit of bait to reach the tax treshold too, so if it comes to that, you're making a go of your venture.

Re: Would there be much interest if I started selling Rag/Lug ?
Oh right, I had visions of probably making £50 maybe even £100 on a really good week in the Summer, if I was lucky, then getting stung with a £1,000 fine or something. I'm pretty clueless about things like that to be honest as I always just worked and got paid at the end of the week and leave all the financial matters to the wife
Maybe I could give this a go, alongside a part time job then, and I would hopefully be alright just giving my no. to members here. Cheers!!

I'd go for it ! When I was 19/20, I used to dig black-lug on an ocassional basis. Anyone who has dug these buggers with a
spade will know just how tough it is ! Anyway, I'd get up to 10 dozen on a ( good) tide and sell them either to members of my club
or a sports-shop that made no profit on them. Be careful though; I knew another digger, who also set nets, who was crucified by the
taxman. He was obviously living well beyond his means and well, jealous neighbours did the rest !
Best of luck to you !
