not much hope of catching one you have to go hunting them  at low water go for a look under big stones and around large rocks under the weed :D

if you have never collected peeler before an dont really have the know how you will be only wasting your time mate all the usual spots i use to get them years ago you would be doing well to get 1 from now day but i have sussed a new spot thankfully, but as said mainly under rocks when the tide had just moved out is your best bet

its a case of looking round for them, try looking unders rocks, weed beds or any kind bits n pieces that would b littered round, you would be suprised were you could find them even buried in mud under rocks. i have only started collecting my own this year when i could get out and were i go you are most certain to come out mud up to the eye balls. wear an old pair of waterproof bottoms or someting if its amuddy area, i wear merrigold gloves under my garden gloves, not the really thick 1"s ,they keep my hands warm n dry n can still feel freely for crabs in water and mud.
avoid other peoples traps of tyres, guttering n roof tiles, they can get really protective of them
i no afew lads in wexford who patrol their traps n they would have ashot gun on board with them
its a case of searching round n learning, i got out lst nite for an hour n collected 6 peelers n 5 softies, not a lot by any baitdiggers standards but thats afew quid saved on crab for my next fishing trip
all you can do is try
gud luck

I do respect other peoples work, well is it legal or not, thats another argument but if you know the tyres belong to somebody, respect that ...
Same time i can pick up anything from the shore and no shotgun can stop me :D
Would like to see a court case over that :D

I have said this before and i will say it again, they might have put the tyres down but they dont own the crabs that get in to them, the lad that owns them is the lad that puts them into his bucket first

this is a reply to john1 from DUBLIN believe it or not!haha! who thinks whoever gets to the tyres first is welcome to rob the tyres because whoever spent hour on end transporting and digging in the tyres is doing it for johns benifit!!!! everyone says ah the dubs aint that bad! here is a clear example of their take on respect for other anglers! and how they think they own everything! he wouldnt give it a second thought and would raid anyones tyres if he came across them! here is an example john maybe it might get you thinking........ imagine you spent an entire week cleaning your gaff and rented a skip only to find that all the neighbours filled it while you were sleeping! how would you feel? the same applies to tyres! there not yours so stay out of them! i just spent an entire week dragging tyre after tyre through the mud and it was my back breaking work that gives me the right to say those peelers are mine! any time your in Wexford there is an invite to come do my tyres and see what happens!!!!!!!!!!

are fare as I no its not legal to leave tires on the shore anyway, and unless these lads doing it are breeding the crabs themselves I don't see a problem taking them.

Im sure the way i would feel in such a situation is very let down and deflated

Dont tar all the dubs with the same brush, i dont own anything till i have possesion of it,same applies to you im afraid thats a fact

well i guarantee if you came down on your own and not in your drones your opinion would change! do a poll john and see who comes out on top! can you get bait in dublin john????? no? ever wonder why? by the way setting tyres is creating a mini eco system for crabs to bread! and the more crabs there are the more and bigger fish there will be, because thats what they feed on john! i wouldnt be doing the tyres eveyday so collecting a dozen or two every now and then wouldnt make an impact on their population! education is a bi**h!!!!!!
