Any ideas what these are ,the beach at laytown is covered in them after any storm?

They might be bits of sea urchin shells , iv seen lots of urchin shells on them beaches but they usually look more round!

Did they crumble easily into sand as i've seen those loads of times and wondered what the deal was?

We seen loads of them yesterday, but allot of other weird stuff..

Also 1000's on small star fish.

Thats it ,cheers always wondered what they were but I'm surprised that there's any shellfish left around that bit of the coast ,good to see :D
