Report:
was visiting a mate who i used to work with before and on the way home with my gear in the van i thought why not have a quick cast for an hour.i had limited time as i had be home by a certain time.pulled in to my mark ive always looked at before and realised with the moon and tide patterns it could be fishy . i baited two rods at the van which i never do.i always go to the beach first and prepare there.there was a small surf and didnt look too promising but i was there so just kept at it.banged the first out very deep, beyond the small breakers to see what was happening out there.took the other up and tried in close within the breakers and disaster struck.a birds nest and a bad one  it was my own fault as alot of the line was to one side of the reel and the obvious happened.stood on the waters edge trying to fix the situation but realised it needed more surgery so with disgust i had too walk back to my tripod, with releasing the weight grips ,i placed it on the tripod when all of a sudden it went awol  .after realising i had no operation of the reel i had only one option.walked to the water and held a firm grip on the line.kept wadeing out deeper and deeper in my waders and cud feel a strong fish on the end.my hands were feeling the pressure of the fish and too be quiet honest i was thinking maybe its a bass but as i pulled it closer i could see not just one but two trout.omg a double of trout.never had it before.such a job trying to coax them a shore as one wanted to go one way and the other tried to go the other and i just kept thinking about how well they were hooked.the sweat and nerves where begining to roll at this stage and i gently eased two mad anxious trout to the beach.1x 4lb and the other a 3lber.now any one that gets a 7lb fish alone knows exactly whats its like to get one in but with two fish that make up that weight and have two different minds its tottaly different. a dream if you ask me.had to bring them both up to the tripod to get my unhooking tool, that when i just looked up to see the other rod twitching. i was left in a situation.do i leave him and unhook these mad hoping duo or do i bring him in and unhook the three.knew that leaving him on the line too long and he would tire easily i quickly got in the water and got him in fast as the the two others done riverdance behind me.reeled in a 2lb trout and who also had my line in a twist as he was on for a bit while i was taking the others in,quickly married him with the others.quickly unhooked the three of them quickly, reached for the camera and got a shot.took the three of them as quick as i could into the water and realised i was now left with trying to revive them.took a total of ten minutes to get them all back to life but im convinced the last one turned around before he left my sight and said to him self"hope i never see you again" and quickly swam to his home.excitement in fifteen minutes or what.id do it all again.the double took a sandeel and a mack strip and the single too a sandeel.just headed off home all happy but realising i have a days work tommorow to sort out my line situation but im sure i will come to terms with that:mrgreen:

cheers brian

Well done, it's things like this that remind us why we fish... moments of exceptional sport..
I once had a pike take a dead bait, then the line snapped at reel, but got caught on 2nd last eye coz it sprung up....So I had to gingerly handline her in.. only bout 12lb..but nerve wracking!

again, great fish

Well done Brian,

The sea trout are making a good account of themselves over there. I can just imagine trying to handline in two fish that size.
