3 in one oil for reels

Well I finally splashed out on a decent reel ( Shimano Exage 4000) after messing around with cheapos for the last couple of years. Want to look after it well and make it last. I know I need to rinse it after every trip. The leaflet with the reel says to add a drop of Shimano oil to the maintenance port after every couple of trips. Just wondering will 3 in one oil do the job just as well?

You should oil the line roller and bail arm too their was a great write up in irish angler last month on the topic . ill upload pics later

He doesn't refer to any specific type of oil or grease but he said he was using ones that are designed for bikes.
