Help on where to find Sandeels.. with a fork
Hi lads, im going to try and dig sandeels, i dont have a clue where to find them. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Im in Meath so am i watsing my time? Anyone on the site who ive seen mention it are all in the west. Just looking on some pointers for type of area and tide sizes, things like that. Cheers

Tried Gormo beach a few times with a vingler and a fork got a few small ones but not enough to make it worth while also tried push net all I got was two eels and loads of tiny flounder shrimps and a micro turbot, by all means give it a go anyway you might fair better than me,the places to try are sand banks with standing water the steeper the bank the better on the seaward side hope this helps

Cheers Eoghan, will give it a shot, want some live ones to try under a bubble float, standing in the surf with a light rod and a bubble float, sounds like a perfect way to spend a day to me.
