luckey idont think your far out with the weight. iv had an 18lb off the boat and looking back at the pictures doesent lokk that much different what you dont see in the pictures is the thickness of the fish.http://www.sea-angling-ireland.org/bull ... =5&t=28774 have a look and see

7-8 lb ray is not to be sniffed at. I have a pic of a 16lb ray here to compare on a shakespear box.

Nice one Alan, thats a cracking raymond....very think set as well, so would defo be up in the 9 - 10lbs in my opinion. Had Thornies touching the 7lbs + mark from the Cliften area and they did not look as big as yours. What ever the weight, a ray of that size is a cracking fish from the shore - well done and roll on the next session...

thanks all for the kind replies. im still thinking myself in around the 14 to 16 lbs mark.. as it had alot of thickness and just by holding it i knew it was around that size.... thanks again all..... calling it my PB ray......

lovely fish mate - last year i had one with very similar dimensions (but i never measure how thick) and it went 12lb 2 on my scales. and i recon she was just after spawing because she felt thin if you know what i mean. i am in no way intending to take away from your assessment because the thickness would make all the difference. in fact i'd have to agree with you.
