Nice fish sean. Seems very fat for the length, or it might be just 'big boned'. Did you measure or weigh?

lovely fish, happy days!

What sort of a lure is that ?

Caught one bass ever on a a silver spoon lure that i bought in a grocery shop. major luck i think.

Wouldnt mind trying for a bass this year on some lures

Cheers lads it weighted in at 6lb and was in superb condition, slow off the mark this year its my first lure caught bass of 2012. The lure is a skagit designs b-match off fleabay.com

Well done Sean, that's a nice plump fish.
I still havn't got one on a lure this year yet - fished a sheltered mark on Saturday and it was just dead, no sea bird activity, no bait fish, even the rock pools were empty.
Cod season Winter 2013/14: 117 cod (best fish: 6.5 lbs)

nice fish seanie...fat...
caught a few meself in west waterford on 14/04 (cold north eastlerly winds) me buddy had a seven pounder..all on plugs...they're about alright and taking the hard plastics..very slow though...nice one congrats

Sean great fish and what a way to start with the 1st lure caught fish of the year :P

Species 2013: Coalie, East Coast Codling, Smoothounds, And hopefully a back opp to get back fishing soon...
