peeler crab question..

Hi all.. the question is do all crabs peel... I do not use them much for bait, i live in galway and have looked around the coast line for them but only seem to find hardbacks... am i looking at the wrong time or it is just the type of crab.....

SHORE SPECIES 2012... coalie,

boat species09~~~pollack,cod,haddock,whiting,doggies,bullhuss,tope,john dory,thornebsck,blonde,blue shark,spur dog,wrase,gunnard,pouting,

shore species 2010~~~ dab,flounder,thorneback ray,pollack,plaice,coalies,turbot,wrasse,bull huss, lsd...

boat trips 4 result..pouting,, spurdog.pollack,
shore trips 2010.... 36.....

wish list 2010..sea trout....

I managed to get about 20 yesterday up here in Sligo so I'd imagine they peel about the same time in both places. On another note they were next to useless at the comp I fished so they weren't worth the effort.

Species 2012: Flounder, Whiting, Dublin Bay Codling, Coalie, 3 Beard Rockling, Shore Rockling, Bass, Dogfish, 5.2lb Starry Smoothhound (PB), Twaite Shad, Thornback Ray 5.8lbs (PB), LSD, Pollock, Ballan Wrasse, Cork Wing Wrasse, 43cm Flounder (PB)

Species 2013: Coalie, East Coast Codling, Smoothounds, And hopefully a back opp to get back fishing soon...

alan all crab peel the hard backs you got might have all ready shed or will be geting ready to shed soon just keep looking as all crabs dont shed at the same time the peeling season is from now untill october in most places but can be got in some places all year round next time your coming to dublin let me no and i will look after you with a few

i dont find the peelers much use up here in the west to be honest

They were sod all use Sunday anyway mate!

Seriously though I rarely use them up here usually freeze them and bring them down to Wexford after hounds.
