cheers brian. just stick with drew. that boy could fall into a sewer and come up with a trout between his teethyngkmd wrote:im glad the trip turned out to be more than worth it for you. got some good fish there
now why is it everyone seems to be able to catch sea trout except me?
cheers brian. it is a lovely part of the world with so much fishing potential. i think we could spent a month there fishing a different mark every day and still not get round them all. we have a few tope marks out there to try from the shore, but i think we'll leave it until later in the year to give them a go. sure it just gives us a reason to justify another trip out that waysaving private brian wrote:some nice beaches back there al.theres so many.i have an idea where you where..well done guys
thanks dave. i was just shocked at how few anglers were out and about that way when we were there. if we had beaches like that up here we'd be out fishing every daydave316 wrote:Very nice, would love to go there, looks awesome and great fishing too!!

thanks grady. doggie3131 is a trooper and has been looking after us over on the west coast for years now. in fact all the lads in the galway buccaniers sac have been more than kind to us. puting us onto good marks and looking after us. there are far too many of them to mention and they have become firm friends over the years. and for me that's what sea angling ireland is all about. anglers from all corners of ireland helping each other out.grady wrote:great trip there Al, seems you had realy good time, and is good to have friend like doggie3131 where you can find a shelter at the tough weather
nice fishing lads, well done
the only thing i can think is that there must be cages around there somewhere. the ones in red bay are the only ones in the uk&ireland that are placed 'offshore' in comparison to those placed in sheltered bays elsewhere - sheltered bays obviously encourage less 'flushing' and more chances of sea lice, amongst other things. i worked on them for a spell and there never saw any sea lice, not even on the salmon themselves. fair play to you de-licing the fish, i would most have certainly done the same thing.. for what it was worthAl and Jordan wrote:i've never seen anything like it. i'll have to see if there are salmon farms out that way as it's the only explanation i can think of as to why so many fish were so badly infested. we have salmon farms up in red bay just hundreds of yards off the coast and i have never seen a lice on any fish that we have taken from around there, even when we tie the boat off on the cages. so i can't see why there was such a drastic difference in those poor fish.fishy1987 wrote:That was some trip.Sounded like ye had a great trip and jordans rod must have seriously doubled over at times.lovley sea trout (shocking that ll the fish were covered in sea lice)
