People:Me, myself and I
Duration: 21:15 - 22:20
Tide: low 20:40
Weather: clam with a bit of a breeze
Bait: power isome
Rigs: 4gr #6 fine jighead
Results: 3 Rock gobies
Report:
Decided to give carrick harbour a quick go for an hour before startin the night shift in work. Got to the harbour at about 21:15, low tide was at around 20:40 and started working a 4gr jighead with a 1 inch section of a power isome Brown. First chuck at the white wall at the bottom of the steps missed a few takes moved on up to the corner at the end of the rocks and started working the lure extremely close to the rocks and weed with a very slow retrieve while tapping the lure on the bottom, within seconds had my first fish a rock goby of i'd say around 12cm great fight on the lultra light gear. Shortly after that had another 2 gobies then wrapped up to head to my lovely work for 23:00. Gear used was a 7ft Shakespeare trion 2-15gr spin, Mitchell 2000cf fixed spool with 8lb braid and 8lb fluro leader, 4gr size 6 fine jighead and a brown power isome. This LRF stuff is addictive lol Bangor harbour is the next target hopefully get a few more species

Looks like a fun way to spend a few hours.
I've bought some small soft plastics myself, waiting for the weather to warm up a bit first though.

Great stuff Jonny, that LRF stuff certainly is addictive alright, well done. By the way I think that goby might be a Black Goby, the Rock Goby has a distinctive yellow/orange tip to its dorsal fin.
