Waterford Ballyquin

#1 Post by lacustris »

People:Solo

Duration:19.00 to 23.00

Tide:High tide 20.00

Weather:Fair dropping to potentially ground frost at 23,00

Bait: Peeler crab

Rigs: 2 pulley rigs 4/0 and 5/0

Results: nil

Report: First time at this mark fished east end of beach fished about 200 yards to the west of rocks at end of beach . Tackled up an hour before high tide. Fished mainly at distance but realised after tide ebbed that there was reasonable depth close in around high tide. One relatively gentle bite two hours into ebb with brief contact with a reasonable fish. Poor hook up attributed to churning surf tangling up pulley rig. Looking forward to a return visit to lure fish the rocks in front and to the east of car park.
