LRF Fishing Dublin 1/4/12

#1 Post by jack01986 »

People: Sweetwrasse and myself

Duration: 3hrs or so

Tide:rising to full

Weather: Cool and Overcast

Bait: Variety of jelly worms

Rigs: Jig Heads

Results: About five or six pollack.

Report: Decided after all the settled weather to try for some fish on the lighter gear. Brought out the LRF rods and a variety of lures and jelly worms. I managed a fish after the first few casts on a power isome worm. Things went quiet for a while and just as the talk of packing up went around I had my head wrecked by what I think was a wrasse plucking at the tail of the work and taking chunks out of it. The pollack eventually came on the feed and was getting a few hits every cast or so. Sweetwrasse wasnt having much luck but I gave him a go of LRF rod and he was into a fish on the first cast and pulled in a nice pollack. These guys put up a serious scrap on the lighter line and soft rods crash diving for the rocks and really jagging on the line. Its great fun cant wait to see what a better sized fish would do.

Great stuff Jack, good to see a few more at it. Just wait until you get a few wrasse and mackerel on that gear, serious fun.
