West Waterford 24/03/2012

#1 Post by declan65 »

People:me

Duration:3.5 hours

Tide:flooding, HW 6.30 ish

Weather:overcast, southeasterlies

Bait:lures

Rigs:

Results:sea trout

Went to a favourite rock mark today to find it just unsafe to fish due to very large surf so last minute change of plan and headed off to a mark that would be more sheltered and safer. 15 minutes later arrived at the second mark and quickly got set up.Not much action in the first hour or so , lots of weed in close was playing havoc with the lure action. As high water approached the weed dissappeared and after about 10 mminutes fish on, not typical bass take and was unsure what it was until on the surface a beaut of a sea trout did its tail walking and dancing routine   . Safely landed, photo etc, the trout was 60 cm length, not much action after that but happy to have saved the blank and nice change to bass. Headed off as darkness descended with plans hatched for tomorrow 8)
