Disappointing Waterfoot 22/3/2012

#1 Post by Monty156a »

People: Myself & Nial K

Duration: 7pm'til 10.30

Tide: Filling to full high

Weather: Cold, dry and calm

Bait: Sandeel & mackerel

Rigs: Boom Pennell & Clip down flapper

Results: 2 Coalies, 1 dab & a shore rockling

Report:
Headed down to Waterfoot last night, the tides looked spot on and a nice evening was forecast. What can I say, what a disappointment. The water was flat calm and the crabs were having a field day with our bait. :( Not a doggie in sight.

Apart from the shore Rockling all fish were very undersized. The rod tips hardly stirred all night. Ah well, I suppose you can't win 'em all the time :)

Hoping for some better results next week on our daylight sessions.

hard luck monty, i usually find that when the crabs feel safe enough to come out in numbers it usually means the fishing will be pants  . but stick at it man, the weather is set to improve soon and the sea temp should warm up a bit encouraging the fish to play ball a bit more freely  :P :P
