12/3/12 greystones harbour

People:me and eyes and three madlads

Duration:7 till 12

Tide:hw 2 ish

Weather:dead calm

Bait:lots

Rigs:three hook flaps

Results:coalies, pollock ,whiting ,scorpian fish ,codling,poor pout,silver eel,flounder , octopuss and dinner !




Report:had loads of bait left over from sat so headed to the old reliable ,dave was already fishing when i got out good few lads their who obligingly packed up and went home leaving just five of us ,fishing was hecktic with pollock and coalies , the three amigos managed an octopus 8) ,rag did well to start with mack and crab legs taking over the bites got my first flounder off the wall ,and my first eel :evil: and my first decent meal 8) some job getting it up the wall on a 11 foot telescopic quivertip and a size 4 hook :lol: thanks for the help lads i,m sure anyone over in the pub watching 5 of us up on the wall staring into the sea must of had a right laugh :lol: dave has a few snaps to add i,m sure :wink:

nice 1 roger hope the lobster tasted nice was talking to lad on sunday night out there who had a 10lb one last week from the same spot

Nice mixture of fish, molluscs and crustaceans there R2D! Ever think of opening a seafood restaurant?

Good night had by all, plenty of fish but I felt sorry for poor Roger, who barely got a minute to sit down all night. That quiver tip never stopped quivering all night :shock: . There was plenty of excitement when the 3 amigos caught the octopus,,,,,,,,,,,but How Roger managed to get that lobster up the wall without the line snapping or the hook coming out i'll never know :shock: . It was some feat :wink: . I lost a few rigs to a suspected rope underneath me,,,,,,,memories of Wicklow harbour :roll: . I'll put some piccies up of the great man himself and I need some help on identifying a suspected Poor cod :wink:

need some help on identifying a suspected Poor cod
best way to remember is the poor cod has the poorer anal fin.

Great nights fishing was it the eel thats 6.77 or the lobster? 8)

the lobster :lol: the eel was about 18 inches long and a handfull at that! hate the slimey slippery rig wrecking yolks!!
