SE wexford 26/02/12

People: on own

Duration: 3.5 hrs

Tide: filling

Weather: misty with a se wind

Bait: maddies, wraps, mac, sandeel

Rigs: 3 hook flappers

Results: one coalie

Report:
headed to a relatively local beach that always is sheltered - was relieved to see not too much weed on arrival

the 2lbs of maddies that i never got to use during the week were worse for wear but some were still kicking

i thought with this relatively calm beach it would get a few small fish interested

needless to say this was not the case - i had one small coalie after 30mins and that was it - on wrap and mac

i also had a lovely man with 5 dogs ignore my calls to get the dogs away from me - cue the big stupid black lab running into my line - my rod hopped out of the tripod and crashed onto the stones - top eye gone - thanks

he then proceeded to warn me in his claims of deafness "youd want to watch out they will eat your bait" i mean jesus wept, they are your f**king dogs you control them

against my better judgement i stood on in the rain and got drenched - to really feel miserable - for another 2 hours

i now have 2 rods to repair after the third eye got knocked out thanks to the weed the last day out

i kept telling myself the karma gods will deliver me a decent fish - but it doesnt happen

im at the point now where if i come back with my rods intact the next day it will be a result

You could take the poor fishing but thats a right pain in the ar*e. I'd have sorely tempted to dish out a few spear tackles! But then I am a small angry man:-D Hard luck mate.
It ain't easy but it sure is simple!

Brian, sounds like a tough session, we had similar problems in Clare at the week end, i have never seen as many dogs as i did and all of them off the leash, owners did not give a crap what the dogs did, all except one nice old dear, i think she saw the look on my face   :D :D :D Better luck next trip out

You'll welcome the sight of your rod hopping off the stand with a few hounds soon enough :)

that was shite    you should invest in a dog control device one of those ones that send out a high pitched noise that drives them away !or just stay home with all these rod rings to fix your not gonna have money for bait
look on the bright side things can only get better

I just want to give you a hug after reading that  I would have curled up into the fetal position and repeated my mantra,,"There's no place like home, there's no place like home". Ah well, we're nearly into March,,,,,it won't be long now Brian
