Fished Reenroe last night 4-10pm. High tide was 7pm. I was using razor and lug combis on a pulley pennell rig. No fish. What was i doing wrong. HELP!!!!

you never said what size hooks you used, i would suggest a two hook flapper with size 2's kamasan b940, your choice of bait seem fine.

If you have two rods, try one with 2/0 pennel and send the other out with either a 2 clip down 1/0 or less hooks or flapper and mid- close range also try a bit of mackerel for tiping

Reeroe or reenroe? If reenroe kerry it always fishes better at and around low water.

If you were after bass I wouldn't go any smaller than a 3/0 otherwise you just get pestered hauling in small nuisance fish.
Use big baits, but as Pat said you probably missed the fish.
Apart from a bigger scent trail, big baits on a large 4/0 to 6/0 hook will also attract the small fish but they wont be able to get their mouths around the hook. However, a cluster of small fish tugging on your bait may attract a bigger fish, the little fish scatter leaving the bait for the big fish - hopefully!!!

Hi I take it that it is the Kerry beach you are talking about as you had another post about St Finnians Bay, which is not that far from Reeroe. I would not be too disappointed about your lack of success because there does not seem to be any presence of bass anywhere in Tralee bay or Dingle bay for that matter. I fished Rossbeigh last Fri and Sat, in beautiful conditions and with good bait and only got one spent sea trout, the fellow with me got several spent trout and one dog.

I think that the bass have moved off shore for some reason, might well be they followed some bait fish out, whatever the reason they are just not in shore now. A friend was fishing Dingle bay last weekend, in his boat, and could have filled the boat with macks had he wanted to, so maybe the bass are out hunting them or whatever the macks are feeding on. If we got a good blow then I feel sure that there would be some bass back in shore again, but till then we can but hope.

This is my favourite spot in Kerry for fishing. I always rent a cottage for a week in September in nearby Ballinskelligs. As above, the beach fishes better on a low tide from around one hour before to 2 hours after low water. Fish tight into the rocks on the right hand side, or just right of the river on the left hand side of the beach. Take care if fishing the river side in darkness as the tide tends to sweep in behind you.
it can be hit and miss at times and i've had some great sessions along with quite a few blanks. Stick it out and you will be rewarded.
There is another smaller beach on the other side of the rocks where the shell of the hotel is. Fishing with plugs in daylight from the rocks here can also produce results, I've had bass to 8 lbs here.
