antrim harbour mark 19th feb

#1 Post by dan belfast »

People:me alan and soupy

Duration:15.30-21.00

Tide:incoming

Weather:lovely

Bait:rag,mackerel,scad

Rigs:everything

Results:plaice, dogs, dab, flounder, codling, whitng, rockling and soupy got a surprise

Report: after a sucessful session last week we decided another wee run up the coast was in order. we found our intended mark empty so set up and to be honest bites came right away. soupy was first of the mark with a nice plump flounder. bites were coming thick and fast with us all landing small codling and whiting. just before dark alan spotted a toy train lying in the rocks and when poor soupy went to the car to get his headlamp we attached it to his mainline and casted it out. when he came back we told him his rod was "going like a train" he stuck into it thinking it was a bite. to see the look on his face was priceless    over the next couple of hours the fishing just got better with alan picking up a nice codling around a 1lb and a half. i landed the biggest fish of the night with a nice doggie. all in all was a great nights craic and plenty of fish cant wait for the next one.
