The Beara

#1 Post by Paul Harris »

People:Eddie, Chris, Dave, james & me

Duration:13/14 Feb all day

Tide:Low at 1400

Weather:still,calm,sunny

Bait:crab,lug, squid, sandeel, rubbers

Rigs:pulley and two hook flappers

Results:cod, mullet, dogd, huss and conger

Just finished a couple of days guiding with some guests whe were very much beginners at sea fishing.
Put out crab, lug, mussel, squid baits for cod and fisnished the day catching cod spinning rubber eels and mullet on a Dexter Wedge!
After trying to explain that this was most unusual we went out next day for huss and at least that was normal with doggies (of course) and a few nice huss on sandeel and squid.
I was still throwing a rubber eel about and had a savage take which resulted in a strap conger about 5 lbs.
If the beginners were confused then so was I
Funny old game this fishing
Live out on the beautiful Beara Peninsula. Always willing to assist visiting anglers.
