People:me & james (brother)

Duration:6-11pm

Tide:8ish

Weather:slight wind overcast

Bait:fresh peeler,fresh razor,lug

Rigs:flappers 1up1down

Results:me,6 codling, up to 45cm 1 whiting 33cm 1 coalie (small)
james 4 codling,up to 47cm 1 whiting (small)

Report:
got a phone call from the brother on thursday evening to see if i was into a session but had no bait so a quick look at the tides to see if i could get some crab or lug on the friday morning but the tides were not good so a few calls were made and i was soon sorted with fresh crab and a few lug hit youghal at about 5.30 and rang john who sent his brother down to me with 25 fine fresh crab (thanks john) so headed to our first mark at green pk were there were a few local lads already set up so we moved around past them and got the rods out for about 6 we did not have to wait long for the first fish of the night as i pulled in a small coalie on the first cast fellowed a few mins later by james with a nice 45cm codling not long after i pulled in a double of codling (42cm) and whiting 31cm james then got a small codling all the while we had the locals and a couple of f.n looking at us and woundering what they were doing wrong 1 of the lads came over and asked what bait we were useing and soon got the answer to why they were noting geting fish they had no crab so back to the fishing with me geting another nice plump codling 41cm then i had another slighty bigger at 45cm soon enough it was 8.30 and time to head around to the beach to set up camp for the night and get a fire together we had rods back in the water for 9 and we had another couple of small fish each b4 james struck into the biggest fish of the night a codling of 47cm and i finshed of with 1 of 34cm the plan was to fish all of the drop but i had no idea of how much the tide fell away down on the beach so at 11 we gave up and got stuck into the beer all in all a great result for only a few hours fishing

you might be right mike but i am not a big caster i might get 100/120 yards if lucky but i reckon the fresh crab was the telling factor in the session witch i cant fault john for top crab as good as any i would get myself and belive me i get prime crab all year around but the tides were not so good when i goy the phone call
